Khadys Dream will soon take to the screens with "Before You Commit", a short film designed to make young people aware of the consequences of crime.
We teamed up with 'The Screen Community' to create a short educational film about the Before You Commit programme.
Through the film, we aim to encourage more young people to attend the programme and make better choices in life. We show them the reality of how easy it is to get drawn into the life of crime and help them understand the hidden untold consequences of incarceration that they will not see before it is too late.
The process of filming was great fun. Seeing how much work goes on behind the scenes was amazing but also so tiring! The director demanded high standards which meant a lot of pressure on the actors.
One aspect we wanted to make clear to the audience was that the video was shot in Camden. The film crew helped us make this vision a reality by including shots of the high street, backroads and familiar faces from the community.
'The Screen Community' does sterling work. This London-based organisation engages with diverse and hard-to-reach young people and provides skills training in film, TV and games design, with routes to further education and employment.
